Strategic Move to Revitalize Tourism

China has made a decision to revive its tourism sector by offering visa-free entry to citizens from six countries, namely France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia. This policy, effective from December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2024, permits travelers from these nations to visit China for up to 15 days without a visa. This initiative covers various travel purposes including business, tourism, and family visits.

Expanding Visa-Free Transit

Adding to its efforts to facilitate travel, China has recently extended its visa-free transit policy to 54 countries, including Norway. This allows foreign travelers passing through China en route to a third country to enjoy a six-day stay in specific Chinese cities without a visa.

Surge in Foreign Visitors

The National Immigration Administration reports a significant increase in foreign visits to China, with numbers reaching 26.51 million by the end of October.

Promoting Inbound Tourism

The China International Culture Association and Trip.com Group have partnered in a three-year agreement to boost inbound tourism. Their collaboration supports the Nihao! China campaign, aimed at fostering cultural exchanges and promoting China as a top travel destination.

Trip.com Group's Investment in Tourism
